Day 1 - Galle
Galle is located on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. The centerpiece of the city is the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and ramparts offer a glimpse into the colonial past and are perfect for leisurely walks.
The Galle Lighthouse, situated at the fort, is an iconic landmark. It offers beautiful views of the Indian Ocean, especially during sunset. Galle is close to several beautiful beaches, such as Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa, which are popular for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing. The city has influenced by various communities, including Dutch, Portuguese, and British. Galle International Stadium has hosted numerous international matches, including Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20s. Galle has a thriving art scene, with many galleries and shops selling local crafts, art, and souvenirs, making it a great place for shopping.
