Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as "Little England," is a picturesque town in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is famous for its high-quality tea and visitors can explore sprawling tea estates, learn about tea production, and enjoy tastings at various tea factories.
It’s a great spot for hiking and nature walks also it is characterized by rolling hills, terraced gardens, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The town boasts numerous colonial-era buildings, such as the Grand Hotel and the Hill Club, which reflect its British colonial past. Gregory Lake is a popular spot for picnics and boat rides, surrounded by beautiful gardens and walking paths. Nuwara Eliya has a cooler climate compared to the rest of Sri Lanka, making it a refreshing getaway. Horton Plains National Park offers stunning biodiversity and the famous World’s End, a dramatic cliff with breathtaking views. There’s horse racing, flower shows, and other festivities including the Nuwara Eliya season.
